The Gnome Show will transform Genome into a fantasy-esque landscape complete with an installation depicting a surreal forest scene. Opening reception for The Gnome Show is April 21st @ 6pm and runs through June 7th. Expect something crazy.

New Things
A group exhibition showcasing the talents of surrealist painters from around the country. Artists such as Dan May, Jason Limon, Scott Scheidly, Joe Vaux, and Nathan Spoor will be producing artwork for Botanica. These artists have been featured in and on the cover the likes of Juxtapoze, Hi-Fructose, and other nationally published magazines. These surreal paintings will evoke popular symbolism related in some manner to plant-life.

Genome is presenting an art exhibit for the public on Saturday March 3rd. The opening reception starts at 6:00 pm. The exhibit will feature new paintings and installations by Nick Bloomberg and Katie Schuler. Both artists utilize black light paints which will put emphasis on the changing elements from within their work. The title ‘Lux Operon’ stems from the fragment of the V. fischeri genome that controls bioluminescence found in nature.

A dual show of new work by Cleonique Hilsaca and Alexandra Loesser. While the styles and mediums of these artists differ greatly, their surreal depictions and illustrations bind together through content and color palette.
